Identifiers

VALOR

Swiss Security Identifier

A numeric security identifier used in Switzerland, typically consisting of 6-9 digits.

VALOR numbers are assigned by SIX Financial Information, the Swiss national numbering agency. The system covers securities traded on Swiss exchanges and other securities with a Swiss connection. VALORs are purely numeric identifiers without letters, distinguishing them from many other international systems. They are used for all types of financial instruments including equities, bonds, structured products, and investment funds. The VALOR system integrates with international standards by being incorporated into ISINs for Swiss securities (using the CH country code). VALORs are essential for settlement through SIX SIS, Switzerland's central securities depository, and for regulatory reporting to Swiss financial authorities.
